About ITiCSE 2017
ITiCSE 2017, the 22nd Annual Conference on Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education, will take place in Bologna, Italy, hosted by Università di Bologna. The event is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE).
The program of the conference will consist of keynote lectures, paper sessions, panels, working groups, tips and techniques, courseware demonstrations, posters, and exhibits. The conference also features opportunities to partake in excursions, enabling attendees to see some of the surrounding district and mingle in a less intense and formal environment.
The conference will begin with registration and an information session for working group leaders and interested members at 6pm on Friday evening 30 June in the lobby of the University's Department of Mathematics, Piazza di Porta San Donato #5.
The working groups and POSSE workshops will start their formal sessions at 9am on Saturday 1 July in the University's Department of Mathematics, Piazza di Porta San Donato #5.
The opening reception for the conference will be held at 7.30pm on Sunday 2 July at Osteria del Sole, Vicolo Ranocchi 1/D.

5 Jul 2018: ITiCSE 2017 is now over, and we look forward to ITiCSE 2018 in Larnaca, Cyprus, hosted by University of Central Lancashire, Cyprus. A preview page is available at the rightmost link in the menus at the top of this page.
29 Jun 2017: A new page has been added to the Attendees menu, showing a selection of restaurants and other points of interest within walking distance of the conference venue.

17 May 2017: Details of the keynote speakers and of the conference program have been added under the Attendees heading. The program will be updated periodically to reflect minor alterations.
20 April 2017: New for 2107, working group abstracts will be published in the main ITiCSE proceedings. More information is available on the Working groups page.
18 Apr 2017: There will be a pre-conference workshop, with funding support, for full-time faculty at non-US institutions of higher education. The workshop is on student involvement in humanitarian free and open source software (HFOSS). For more details, see the Pre-conference workshop page under Attendees.
31 Mar 2017: Conference registration is now open; registration for tours and excursions, including on the Tuesday afternoon, is also open. Links for both are on the Attendees/Registration page.
27 Mar 2017: Notifications have been sent to authors for all submissions for posters and for tips, techniques, and courseware.
14 Mar 2017: All submissions for the conference have now closed.
12 Mar 2017: Due to some possible confusion, the deadline for poster submissions and for tips, techniques, and courseware submissions has been extended by 24 hours, to 23.59 Monday 13 Mar 2017 Anywhere on Earth (UTC-12).
6 Mar 2017: Notifications have been sent to authors for all paper and panel submissions. The conference has accepted 56 papers, 32% of those submitted.
5 Feb 2017: With apologies for the delay, the details of the accepted working groups have now been posted, and applications to join those working groups are open. See the page Call for participation / Working groups.
16 Jan 2017: Submissions of papers and working groups have now closed, and the review process is is under way.
11 Jan 2017: The Submissions page has been updated to give a clearer idea of what is expected in submissions for panels, working groups, posters, and tips, techniques and courseware.
11 Jan 2017: The program chairs are aware that the ACM style files were changed in December 2016. Submissions will be accepted for review whether they conform with the old or the new style.
