The ITiCSE conference is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Computing Education (SIGCSE), in collaboration with the ACM Europe Council, and Informatics Europe. It was funded in the IX century as a Muslim settlement, called Magerit. It was conquered in 1075 and integrated into the Kingdom of Le\u00f3n, and later the Kingdom of Castile. In the XVI century, the king Philip II established here a stable royal court, and since it has experienced growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the city of Madrid has over 3,400,000 inhabitants, and the enclosing region has a population of about 7 million. It is a very active city, both as an industrial and financial center, as well as a culture and bohemian locus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madrid is in the center of Spain and is very well connected with the rest of Spain and Portugal. It is the center of the Spanish railway network and a radial system of national highways. It has two main railway stations, which are Chamart\u00edn and Atocha. The AVE is a high-speed train that connects Madrid with Barcelona, Seville, Toledo, Valencia, Alicante and M\u00e1laga, among other Spanish cities. In addition, several historic surrounding cities, such as Segovia, Avila and Cuenca, are connected by means of highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conference venue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ITICSE 2026 conference is hosted by the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. The university was funded in 1997, being the most novel of the six public universities of Madrid. It has 5 campuses, placed at different locations of the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference organizers belong to the Informatics Engineering Technical School, placed at the M\u00f3stoles campus. However, the conference is held in the Madrid Campus of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, which is closer to the city.
