Continuing the ITiCSE tradition, Tuesday afternoon will be set aside for excursions.
Further to the Tuesday's guided excursion, full day tours are available for attendees who would like to enjoy a few days before or after the conference to explore Cyprus.
All tours and excursions, including the one for Tuesday afternoon, are being handled by the same company, TravelnetCy. Information about all the tours can be found below.
All tours will be departing from the University (UCLan Cyprus) main entrance. Attendees can use the conference bus to get to campus. Information about the conference bus can be found at the Accommodation page.
In addition, for those who would like to schedule their own excursions, there is relevant information available at the Cyprus Tourism Organization website at http://www.visitcyprus.com/.
If you have some free days available, we highly recommend you spend one of them relaxing at the beach, enjoying the Mediterranean sea. About 20-30 minutes drive from the conference venue are some of the best blue flag beaches of the island, which are located in Ayia Napa (e.g., Nissi Beach) and Protaras (e.g., Fig Tree Bay, Konnos Bay, Cape Greco).

Guided walking tour of one of the prime tourist attractions of Larnaca: City center and Foinikoudes promenade.
Scala is used as a colloquial name for Larnaka, and yet it is mostly used to describe the specific area along the Castle seafront, around Saint Lazarus Church and the nearby city quarters. This guided walk begins at Larnaka Castle, at the end of the Palm Trees Promenade. The walk explores the Scala area and visits the handicraft workshops created recently by young ceramic artists, many of them inspired by ancient Cypriot art. The walk continues through the picturesque streets of traditional houses and balconies through the old Scala Turkish Cypriot quarter, where visitors can see what is a very old residential area still in modern use. The tour also visits Eski Carsi Street, Buyuk Cami and Said Mehment Aga Streets, examining the protected houses and important traditional architecture. The tour ends at Ak Deniz and Bozkurt Streets, where visits are made to Craftsmen's workshops.
